British artist Patrick Hughes and his wife, the author and historian, Di Atkinson, live in a converted Edwardian varnish factory in East London. A self-confessed surrealist, Hughes has been attracted to the unconventional since he was a teenager and it shows in his gloriously kitsch interiors. Their collection of contemporary art, arts and crafts furniture, 20th century Whitefriars glassware, Fornasetti and Phillippe Starck all collide to deliver a mischievous and stylish home.
